Objectives: Upon completion of this seminar, participants will better able to:
1. Describe design considerations of rigid endoscopes, flexible endoscopes, power equipment and video system components that impact safety, operation, maintenance, repair and budgetary requirements.
2. Identify obstacles to process improvement in surgical device care.
3. Select structure, process or outcome indicators to solve specific surgical device problems in the perioperative setting.
4. Implement a proactive instrument inspection process into your facility.
